Te Whakakitenga

“Nau te pahua i au i tēnei rangi, kei au āpōpō. Kei ngā tōpito e whā o te ao ōku nei hoa Ka wheeke, ka wheeke, i ngā rā o Mātiti”.

Today you invade my world. Tomorrow the opportunity is mine. My colleagues await at the four corners of the world and, in the near future, we will overcome.

Our vision statement embodies resilience, learning, and global collaboration. It acknowledges the challenges of today—whether historical, societal, or personal—as obstacles that may seem overwhelming in the present. However, through education and growth, these challenges become stepping stones for future success.

The phrase “Nau te pahua i au i tēnei rangi, kei au āpōpō” reflects the idea that while one may face struggles, hardships, or setbacks today, the future holds opportunity. Education is the key to transforming adversity into empowerment, ensuring that what seems like a loss today is merely preparation for success tomorrow.

“Kei ngā tōpito e whā o te ao ōku nei hoa” highlights the power of connection and shared knowledge. Learning is not an isolated journey but a collective experience that spans across cultures, borders, and perspectives. It emphasizes that through collaboration and shared wisdom, individuals and communities grow stronger.

Finally, “Ka wheeke, ka wheeke, i ngā rā o Mātiti” speaks to perseverance and endurance—much like the resilience of our tupuna, who adapted and thrived in various environments. It reinforces the idea that through persistence and continuous learning, individuals and communities will overcome challenges and emerge stronger.

This vision statement is a powerful declaration of determination. It reminds us that while history and present challenges may shape our experiences, through education, connection, and resilience, we can shape the future.

  • Manawaora – Respect: We honor ourselves, others, and our environment, recognizing that true growth begins with understanding and valuing the people and places that shape our journey.
